18.2003 - !FT!Marauder |
| Working on the
new site, archiving all the old Tribes2 news and info. The !FT! Tribes
2 Division is offically closed, and no one really shows much interest
in playing it these days... Or has in a long time actually, as you
can see from the last news post date. It's sort of sad, as this was
the game that we gathered together in this particular incarnation
to play. Personally I blame Sierra. All the patches that screwed things
up... The Bugginess. *sigh* Alas poor Tribes 2, I knew yea well. |

]V[agic and
I were playing Arena last night with Messiah. I've come to the conclusion
that Arena just isn't for me. There's far too much dueling and not
enough turret deploying. I think I'd enjoy it more if they made
a few minor changes to the mod:
A) Make the
maps bigger
B) Add vehicles
C) Allow you unlimited use of inventory stations and all weapons/packs
D) Add a flag at the enemy base, say one that you have to bring
back to your flag to score with. Perhaps give you a flag as well,
that the enemy can capture in turn.
E) Add Turrets and heavy armor.

Jeebus! Everyone
and their brother were online and on RW last night playing. Nice to
see Rev again! Welcome back buddy.
Was talking with Akula last night as well, he's going to reinstall
T2 and join us for some fun again. :) Also, Rune's been trying out
the new Beta patch and apparently it's pretty good. We'll have to
see when it goes final. I don't care what Prozak says, he's been smoking
too much crack. Nerfing the ELF isn't a good idea. (Well, 'cept the
turret.. That one is I'll admit pretty brutal.) With the faster speeds,
it's too damned hard to stop cappers as is, especially on pubs. |

20.2002 - !FT!Marauder |
Yeah, we're
still alive. So everyone can stop bothering me! Read the forums,
you'll see we're still all posting.
Hasn't been
much to report lately, so that's why nothing's been posted in the
news! Basically the Tribes 2 team went inactive after the last patch
screwed things up. A bunch of us have started messing around again
in Tribes 2 however, and of course Tribes 1... Funny how a game
that's 4 years old still kicks some serious ass, isn't it? The Ghost
Recon division is officially alive and good to go. ]V[agic commanding.
(He's always had this S&M fetish going on, so you know he's
in charge.) If you're interested in joining, email
]V[agic by clicking <== Here.
Welcome aboard
to Gio, Skeezix and Eeyore the latest additions to House !FT!. May
you fight with honor.
Roster cleaned
out, if I accidentally deleted anyone, please let me know ASAP. |

5.2001 - !FT!Marauder |
| Hey hey, looks
like there's now a 7 on 7 Tribes 2 ladder on TWL. We've got enough
guys interested to start playing again.. So I guess we're back into
it! :) |
| |
Dec
4.2001 - !FT!Marauder |
| Well guys, it's
been awhile with no news. NAS is still active in the Urban Ops scene,
and is moving over to Ghost Recon. Looks like most of the guys have
lost interest in Tribes 2, tho Blue is trying to get another squad
together. Time to find "the next big game" I guess. :) |

Dec
21.2001 - !FT!Marauder |
Never mind.
Head admin gave OWN the win. Final score is Riverdance 0-5, Tombstone
0-1.
I really hate
when ladder play gets nasty like this. Have to work harder in the
future to avoid such things. (Well, and other teams have to avoid
kicking players during matches....) Ahhh well, on we go! |

| I'm a tool.
First off, the below comment was supposed to be dated the 19th. I
also miscommunicated with Justice from OWN. (My bad) I was really
tired when I replied to his email. I misread it and agreed to play
last night. (Stupid me) Trying to get them to play tonight. Be in
chat for 8:00pm EST anyhows. |

18.2001 Match Dispute |
Thanks to
everyone who played in the ill fated match vs. OWN on Sunday. After
all the BS during the match, Harpoon from TWL awarded OWN a forfeit
against us. I'm talking to the head Tribes 2 guy on TWL, trying
to resolve this issue as I think Harp made a bad call on it. We'll
see what the head guy has to say, here's the email I sent him today:
Hey guy, I've
got an issue I have to talk over with you. I'm REALLY not trying
to sound like a jerk here, but I have an issue with a call that
Harpoon made on our match vs. OWN a few days ago. (He awarded OWN
a forfeit)
Here's my side
of the story:
- 1 map was played during the match on the OWN server. OWN took
Riverdance 5 and 0.
- 2nd map (Tombstone) was started. We brought a few new players
in, since so many of our guys were lagging and getting PL on this
server. OWN checked the roster and permitted them to play.
- Partway thru the match (After OWN got one cap) Our man Headrush
had just gotten into their flag room and was clearing when he was
"Kicked by admin" We immediatly asked what had happened. Many of
the OWN players were asking who had kicked him as well. (All of
them had admin, only 3 of our players did to the best of my knowledge)
We repeatedly called for a halt to the game untill our guy could
get back into the server. OWN accused us off kicking our own player,
or of him kicking himself (??) and continued to play on. As soon
as Headrush re-entered the server he got kicked again. At this point
(Score was still 1-0 or OWN) I ordered our players to stand down
and several OWN players were quite abusive, which did not help the
situation. (They did appologize later, and it's all good.. We all
lose our tempers at times.)
I ordered our
guys to drop off the server untill this issue was resolved, as things
were about to get pretty heated and we really didn't need another
10 people on the server yacking while there was a problem being
resolved. Myself and Prozak Princess stayed to discuss the situation
with the OWN captains. In the meantime, OWN capped out the map.
(Apparently a screenshot was submitted to Harpoon of OWN with a
5-0 score and myself and Prozak still on the server.) Justice and
myself agreed to replay Tombstone, from 15 minutes with 1 cap in
their favor at a to be arranged day. (Some of our players and some
of theirs had to get offline as it was getting quite late.)
We didn't get
back to him with a date that night, and apparently OWN was under
the assumption we would replay the next day. (Most of our players
couldn't make it that night) I was attempting to resched for this
thursday @ 9:00pm, when I got a final decision in my email from
Harpoon.
Harpoon's final
decision was that, since the guy that got kicked from the server
(We're still not sure who it was, but it certainly wasn't any of
us.) "Your reason for leaving the game, that headrush had been kicked,
is not valid, as HeadRush joined your roster as of 9/16/01, the
day of the match. As such he was ineligible to play and own was
within there rights to kick him."
OWN OK'd Headrush
to play. I couldn't find anything in the TWL rules regarding this,
but I know on OGL and Teamplay, once the match has started the players
on the field are assumed to be OK'd by both teams, even if they're
not even on a roster. They also did not admit to kicking him, or
state any reason it was done. One of their players did say "Kick
him again he's still here" the second time he got booted (The server
didn't report him as being gone immediately.) Now, if one of your
players, who was busy raping the enemy flag room was kicked by "Admin"
during a match what would you think?
All we want
is fair treatment here, nothing more. We wish to play on as agreed
to by both OWN and !FT! captains. Restart on Tombstone with 15 minutes
left, 1 cap for OWN. We also wish to pick a different server for
the rematch, as the OWN server is A) wierd and B) does not meet
the requirments for Tribes 2 anyway.
Thanks for
your time.

5.2001 vs. Lords of Steel |
Woot! Sweet
ownage guys! We met Lords of Steel last night on the battlefield,
and came out victorious. Final score when the dust settled was 5-2
on Riverdance and 5-0 on Slapdash. Nice work from everyone. I'm
proud of you all. |

Aug
26.2001 vs. Angels of Armagedeon |
Dopper joins
!FT! for the 12 man ladder. Now Prozak can leave Marauder the hell
alone.
Allrighty guys! Very nice work against the Angels of Armageon tonight.
(=AoA=) tonight.
Very tense
match on Riverdance, with a score of 4 to 3 for us. If they had
another 10 seconds they might have tied it up, as we were chasing
their capper on the way back to their base when time ran out.
Damnation was
an easier map, with our map cappers getting 6 caps in under 15 minutes.
No caps for AoA. Their O was in our base quite a bit at the start
of the map, but the base D, led by Blue kept them out at the critical
end. They did get the flag a few times, but never did get too far
away with it.
Thanks AoA.
Great games, we'll meet again I'm sure. |

Aug
20.2001 vs. Team 311 |
Not much
to say about the match last night against Team 311. Server was really
bad, RW kept dropping out on people. :) It was really late (Teach
us to play West Coast tribes. :) Ahhhh well, good effort everyone.
We did pull the sudden death on Tombstone out of the hat, making
the winning cap just as their offence reached our base.
If anyone
happens to know of a few servers we can scam once a week for pracs,
let one of the captains know. Great games 311, we look forward to
meeting you again!
Match stats:
Reversion: 0-4
Tombstone: 1-0
Slapdash: 0-4

Aug
13.2001 vs. Strategic Alliance |
Great match
against Strategic Alliance tonight! Three very, very tense matches.
Minotaur - Gah. We need to practice this map more. None the less
we did get a couple a caps, and held them off quite well. 2 to 8
Firestorm -
Very well played. :) Our D were all over their cappers, and the
O was all over their flag. 8 to 0. I dropped turrets all over the
place and ended up with 31 points. heh. I love T2 for that.
Katabatic -
3 to 2. Argh! We were all over them, they were all over us. Very,
very tight game that went to the time limit.
Most excellent.
The SA captain asked me to convey his appreciation to everyone for
the great games.
*sniff* You
made us all proud and weepy out there tonight. I wub j00 all. Everyone
hung in there despite the connection and lag, and we came out ahead.
:)
Special note
of appreciation to Hyperion and Symplicite. I don't think we've
ever had our gens up that much of the match (95% :) on Katabatic.
Wicked D setup guys! MVP for the match goes to them. :) Two gold
stars. (Ohhhhh... ahhhhhhhh...)

26.2001 - !FT!Marauder |
Great job
last night against WOLF all! We finally had a full roster with a
few spares (Regretably some peeps had to go mid match, but we had
enough to make up for it.)
Firestorm -
Hate this map. We WERE down 3 caps, but came back in the last few
minutes and tied it up. Game ended with a victory for WOLF in sudden
death overtime.
Sanctuary:
This one got a little wierd. (We were down one player here. 12-11
for them) We were ahead by one cap, WOLF tied it up with 2 minutes
to go in the match. The first 15 minute sudden death went by with
no caps. The second SD round was capped out by Da Lurker 3 minutes
in. Victory, US.
Desicator:
3-0 for us, after a long, LONG fight. Both teams had the enemies
flag at 0-0. Once we got our flag back it was all over tho. Woot.
:)
Thanks to everyone
who came out, and thanks to WOLF for a tense and excellently fought
match.

4.2001 - !FT!Marauder |
Happy 4th
of July to our American members. :)
Got a great
screenshot from playing around on 5150 Comp East 1 last night with
Rune & Prozak. Somehow I actually managed to kill a
scout and then the pilot midair with the belly
turret on a bomber. Woot. :) |

July
4.2001 vs. KORE |
Just finished
up the match with Kore. We got creamed, again due to the fact that
we played 8 to 16 players. It hurt, but considering how badly we
were outnumbered I think we did well. We've picked up some new players
as well. Welcome aboard:
Hyperion!
Makabriel!
Messiah!
Welcome guys,
we're going to have some fun!

June
26.2001 - !FT!Marauder |
The team
Captains have been meeting quite a bit lately to talk about the
future of the team. We've had a few players expressing concerns
about the future of the team. We have lost every single match we've
played so far, and that's frustrating and bad for morale.
Believe me,
it's more frustrating for us than anyone else. It's incredibly frustrating
for us knowing that we have an excellent team, with excellent, excellent
players, yet we can't win a match. Why? WHY? (And where's my flying
car anyhows? I was promised a flying car!) I was watching SA's tactics.
With a full team we should have taken them, or at least put up one
HELL of a fight.
1) Our roster
is too small. Realistically, in order to field 16 players for all
matches and scrims we need a minimum roster of 30-40 players. Most
of us have other comitments in life. One of the advantages of having
a team with older guys as Captains is that we understand. We're
not going to get all spazzy on a guy because he has school, work
or family. Other things are more important than a game. We need
to recruit more players. We need mature, commited players.
One thought
that I had was that when you join a team to play you are making
a comittment to your teammates, a comittment to attend matches and
practises, and a comitment to play your best at all times.
2) People need
to show up for matches, practises, and just hang out and play together
more. There's a group of us always hanging around playing every
night. Where's everyone else? Let's get our game on! It's a riot
playing with your buddies. :) The team that plays together stays
together. We also learn better how each of us plays best, and how
we work together as a team.
3) Bad luck.
We seem to end up with a few guys every match who have problems
connecting. Argh! We actually had 11 players ready to play against
SA and only 6 could connect. 1 crashed in the match and had issues
connecting. ARGH again.
Lots to work
on guys, and as I said. We CAN win. We have an outstanding crew.
We just need more work, more people and a little luck. Don't give
up, we certainly haven't!

June
24.2001 - !FT!Marauder |
Played Silent
Assassins last night. Ouch. :) My ass hurts. We got capped out on
both Damnation and Katabatic. Of our 11 players who could make it,
only 6 could connect to the server and stay connected (Damn you
Dynamix! Damn you to hell!) We had one player crash in the middle
of the match as well. So we played 6 on 13.
Quite a number
of our regulars were away for the weekend as well, which really
didn't help. 5 of our regulars were occupied.
None the less,
thanks to all who played and thanks to SA for the games! Well played.
Good team.
That also marks
our last match on OGL. From now on we are Teamwarfare exclusive.
We've started
a serious drive for recruitment. We need more players! If you have
buddies who are looking for a Tribe, or see someone who seems like
they'd be a good addition to the team, ask them and mention it to
a Team Captain (Prozak, Vaytan or Marauder) or to Sgt. Rune.
Special
Note
A little over
a month ago one of our teammates and long time friend Magic (AKA
Cyborg) was in a serious car accident and suffered a broken neck.
Regretably, his sister was killed in the accident.
He's recovering,
but if everyone could just send him a quick note of encouragement
and let him know we're thinking of him, that'd be really nice.
Marauder out. |

16.2001 vs. VUP |
Match
Vs. VUP. 7-1 for VUP on Katabatic, 6-0 on Quagmire for VUP. GG's
VUP! Hopefully next time we can field a full team. Excellent work
from the defence, and Xypher gets MVP for getting us the flag on
Katabatic. |

May
2.2001 vs. z2 |
Well
we played our first OGL match for Tribes 2, a match against z2.
( cool guys BTW and an excellent team ) Well..... we got our asses
handed to us BIG time. Also we were 5-6 man short during both matches
so that hurt us badly , but we pulled through as a team Scores were
8-0 , 4-0 :( I hope next time we get a better showing of people
for the match, any new recruits who continue to miss practices and
matches will be dismissed from the clan .So if you are going to
miss a match please contact a team captain ASAP, that is all we
ask.
Also
welcome to the gang Xephyr! |
