Team Forever Twisted History

So much we do online has no record.... It's almost like that part of our lives never existed, and considering what an important part of our lives it is, that's just sad. So, with that in mind, Marauder set out to chronicle the existance of Team Forever Twisted.

Here you will find the complete history of Team Forever Twisted. Each division also has their own history, including complete match and roster histories which can be found on their page (click on the menu to the right to select a division.)

In August of 2004, we were honored to make the Spotlight On! award on Proving Grounds. We though it was lost forever when PG went down, but luckily it turned up on Marauder's packrat hard drive one late evening. Check it out here.

The original Forever Twisted Site created initially in 2000 when the House was formed. Click the image to see it full size. Lettering by Vaytan, everything else, Marauder.

The second incarnation of the Forever Twisted site, circa 2002. The top banner and bottom were done in flash, and the fire actually danced in time to the music. :) Very l33t, and total death to dialup users. Thanks to Dman for the music and the HTML code for the funky frames that the site used. Everything else by Marauder. Click on the image to see it full size. You can also right click, save as here to download the theme song, or here to view the old site in all it's glory. :)

Oct 13.2007 - We're back, baby!

Nov 17.2005 - Happy Fifth Anniversary Forever Twisted

It doesn't seem like it, but it's been five years. Team Forever Twisted was formed in October of 2000. (I know it's now November, I forgot to post anything in Oct.) Damn. Considering how many clans appear and disapear over night, we've been playing together one heck of a long time. People have come and gone, but the Team remains. Just did up a little collage for the anniversary, click the image below to see the expanded version.

June 21.2005 - Battlefield 2 Division Launches

The Team Forever Twisted Battlefield 2 Division launches! We're going to be playing the game for a bit before going active on any ladders, and we are actively recruiting. We need a few good men! (Or women!) We're a dedicated clan, our for some fun. Our history dates back to 2000, and Tribes 2. We pub together as well as play competitive matches, and sometimes even just hang around and yack.

Interested in being part of the !FT! revolution? Click here to apply to the team!

June 20.2005 - It's the end of the world as we know it!

That's it for Battlefield 1942/Desert Combat. It was a good run. Not counting tonight, we played on 4 ladders: OGL, Proving Grounds, The Combat Zone and NATO, and fought in 68 engagements over 2 years and 6 months. That's a hell of a long while really, especially in gaming time. We've been having problems getting enough people out lately, and quite a number of our players have left for other games (Damn you World of Warcraft! Damn you!) but from the sounds of it quite a number of them will be back for BF2.

A new !FT! division will be started tomorrow to coincide with the release of Battlefield 2. Watch for it.

Thanks to all the guys who came out and played with us over the years, it's been an awesome run! Some ups, some downs, but mostly just a hell of a lot of fun.

FRAGle is now known as Gonzo. All hail Gonzo!

Oct 9.2004 - Proving Grounds is closing down. :(

Just noticed this posted on the main Proving Grounds page. This sucks.

Endgame - PG Closes Its Doors - - 11:13 PM - Jalis
Five years ago, a "couple guys in Michigan with a database" opened a site called Proving Grounds and aspired to provide a different kind of atmosphere for gaming enthusiasts to match their skills up against other competitive enthusiasts. Built on hard work, a dedication to always making the right decision instead of the popular decision, and the desire to have fun above all else, those guys were wildly successful in that vision.

Unfortunately, all great things must come to an end, and we now stand at that point in our storied history of providing a place for great people to play games. Along with success came personal financial burdens, and though we have for a long time taken those losses and smiled all along, we can no longer do so. Many great people have contributed to this site, none more than our wonderful staff, and thus, this decision was not an easy one to make.

We have seen great players come and play here at Proving Grounds, sharing their experiences with the others here who would follow rules in pursuit of something better than what was offered by our competitors. We have seen our share of detractors who figured we'd close up shop after a few months, or cave to childish antics, threats and even illegal attacks on the web server. We have seen many of these good natured people come and play at Proving Grounds, and enjoy themselves so thoroughly that they joined our staff in order to help provide that same enjoyment to others. These people, staffers and the members who have played here and stood behind us from day one and beyond, will be missed, and we regret that this experience must come to an end. We hope that you will find something similiar to the experiences you have had at Proving Grounds, and we hope to see many of you in the gaming servers we'll all no doubt be frequenting until old age or carpal tunnel keeps us from spending unhealthy amounts of time kicking the crap out of one another at the detriment of our wives, girlfriends and families! No doubt exists that Proving Grounds made an impact in the online gaming community, whether it be the positive reactions most of you expressed, or the love-affair the whiners and cheaters had with trading barbs with us!

In the end, we have to admit that the financial issues must force us to close down, and in that respect, this closure will happen relatively quickly. On October 14th, 2004, PG will officially close its doors. We hope to hear from our committed members in the next week as we say our goodbyes, and afterwards as we become "just players", as we were before we began this thing we would come to love. Certainly, we more than expect to hear from the trolls who I have personally more than enjoyed schooling in lessons of humility.

So, please forgive us for this decision, wrap up your matches, and enjoy the last moments of Proving Grounds. We hope that you guys have enjoyed playing with us as much as we have enjoyed serving you.

PG will be missed, and so will all of you who so supported us.

Sept 1.2004 - Happy Birthday Team Forever Twisted! - !FT!Marauder

It's been 4 years since the team formed up guys, and wow. What a great time. In one way it seems like it was just a few days ago, and in others it seems like forever and day since we joined forces to start playing Tribes 2. (Once it came out of course). I've lost track of the number of hours we've spent online gaming, having a good time and enjoying each other's company, or the number of practises and matches we've held, but thanks to everyone who's helped make the team what it is today. You're a great bunch of guys, and I'm proud to call you all my friends.

Looking forward to many more years of fun and gaming. :)

June 20.2004 - Server taken down

We no longer have a Desert Combat server to practise on. It has been taken down due to lack of donations. With a cost to run of $85 USD per month, and the number of people we have playing (approximately 12 players play on a regular basis) we should have been able to pay for it easily, but regretably a few of our members end up paying the majority of the bills. Alas poor Team Forever Twisted Server, we knew yea well.
