20.2004 - vs. DLB - Defending #5 on PG DC Conquest (Last match on
PG) |
And
the last match on Proving Grounds plays itself out. Some very tense
moments in both of the maps, especially on Lost Village. Dagger,
you're way too stuborn, you bastard. Same with CP and Smikies.
We're going
to miss Proving Grounds, it's a shame they went under. Thanks to
everyone we played for the great matches and attitudes. Don't know
what ladder we're going to next, we'll have to see what comes up
I guess.
This match
was recorded and is avaliable in the downloads
section for your perusal.
Final results:
Lost Village: 206-0 (Coalition)
73 Easting: 345-0 (Coalition)
No Fly Zone2: (not played)
Attending troopers:
BlutSauger, Cable, Dukester, Flash Fried, Instigator, Magic, Marauder,
Messiah, Rune, and VA Killer. |

9.2004 - Proving Grounds is closing down. :( |
Just
noticed this posted on the main Proving Grounds page. This sucks.
Endgame - PG
Closes Its Doors - - 11:13 PM - Jalis
Five years ago, a "couple guys in Michigan with a database"
opened a site called Proving Grounds and aspired to provide a different
kind of atmosphere for gaming enthusiasts to match their skills
up against other competitive enthusiasts. Built on hard work, a
dedication to always making the right decision instead of the popular
decision, and the desire to have fun above all else, those guys
were wildly successful in that vision.
Unfortunately,
all great things must come to an end, and we now stand at that point
in our storied history of providing a place for great people to
play games. Along with success came personal financial burdens,
and though we have for a long time taken those losses and smiled
all along, we can no longer do so. Many great people have contributed
to this site, none more than our wonderful staff, and thus, this
decision was not an easy one to make.
We have seen
great players come and play here at Proving Grounds, sharing their
experiences with the others here who would follow rules in pursuit
of something better than what was offered by our competitors. We
have seen our share of detractors who figured we'd close up shop
after a few months, or cave to childish antics, threats and even
illegal attacks on the web server. We have seen many of these good
natured people come and play at Proving Grounds, and enjoy themselves
so thoroughly that they joined our staff in order to help provide
that same enjoyment to others. These people, staffers and the members
who have played here and stood behind us from day one and beyond,
will be missed, and we regret that this experience must come to
an end. We hope that you will find something similiar to the experiences
you have had at Proving Grounds, and we hope to see many of you
in the gaming servers we'll all no doubt be frequenting until old
age or carpal tunnel keeps us from spending unhealthy amounts of
time kicking the crap out of one another at the detriment of our
wives, girlfriends and families! No doubt exists that Proving Grounds
made an impact in the online gaming community, whether it be the
positive reactions most of you expressed, or the love-affair the
whiners and cheaters had with trading barbs with us!
In the end,
we have to admit that the financial issues must force us to close
down, and in that respect, this closure will happen relatively quickly.
On October 14th, 2004, PG will officially close its doors. We hope
to hear from our committed members in the next week as we say our
goodbyes, and afterwards as we become "just players",
as we were before we began this thing we would come to love. Certainly,
we more than expect to hear from the trolls who I have personally
more than enjoyed schooling in lessons of humility.
So, please
forgive us for this decision, wrap up your matches, and enjoy the
last moments of Proving Grounds. We hope that you guys have enjoyed
playing with us as much as we have enjoyed serving you.
PG will be
missed, and so will all of you who so supported us. |

1.2004 - Happy Birthday Team Forever Twisted! - !FT!Marauder |
It's
been 4 years since the team formed up guys, and wow. What a great
time. In one way it seems like it was just a few days ago, and in
others it seems like forever and day since we joined forces to start
playing Tribes 2. (Once it came out of course). I've lost track
of the number of hours we've spent online gaming, having a good
time and enjoying each other's company, or the number of practises
and matches we've held, but thanks to everyone who's helped make
the team what it is today. You're a great bunch of guys, and I'm
proud to call you all my friends.
Looking forward
to many more years of fun and gaming. :) |

20.2004 - Server taken down |
We
no longer have a Desert Combat server to practise on. It has been
taken down due to lack of donations. With a cost to run of $85 USD
per month, and the number of people we have playing (approximately
12 players play on a regular basis) we should have been able to
pay for it easily, but regretably a few of our members end up paying
the majority of the bills. Alas poor Team Forever Twisted Server,
we knew yea well. |

3.2004 - vs. Mountain Stalkers (MS) - Defending #1 on PG DC Conquest |
| Outstanding
games guys! We even managed to defeat MS (even if not by much!)
as the Coalition on 73 Easting, even when down by one man. Nice
SCUD hunting, Goshwin. Excellent work from everyone, those were
some tight, tight games. Practise does pay off! That also marks
our 20th match played on the PG DC Conquest ladder.

April
26.2004 - vs. Da Lost Boyz (DLB) - Defending #1 on PG DC Conquest |
| Again,
the scent of lemon and carnage surrounds us. An excellent effort
from all involved, and the airforce gets kudos for their work on
El Al. :) There's nothing like seeing an enemy tank coming at you
shooting, then suddenly exploding and seeing one of our aircraft
come screaming through the smoke and flames. Thanks as always DLB,
we look forward to meeting again, which I'm sure we will. :D
Final results:
El Alamein: 133-0 (Opposition)
Berlin: 84-0 (Coalition)
73 Easting: Not Played (Coalition)

18.2004 - vs. Game X Change (GxC)- Defending #1 on PG DC Conquest |
| Lemony
fresh victory is ours! Very nice games, everyone. Excellent team
work and very little chatter was heard. Everyone played very well
tonight. Amazing work on both the ground and the air. In Gazala,
Magic was shot down a total of 0 times by the enemy.
Final results:
El Alamein: 114-0 (Coalition)
Gazala: 164-0 (Coalition)

Dukester, Cable, Goshwin, Instigator, Magic, Marauder, Messiah,
Rune and VA_Killer. |

April
7.2004 - vs. Mountain Stalkers - Attacking #1 on PG DC Conquest |
| /me
does little snoopy dance. Nice work everyone. We managed to soundly
defeat MS in some very, VERY tense fights tonight. Thanks for the
great games Stalkers, you certainly kept us on our toes our on the
battlefield. I thought in the last few minutes on Desert Shield
you had us for sure, but Rune and Insigator pulled it out of the
hat for us on the east flag. Good work to Killer and Instigator
for snagging the axis airfield on Oil Field as well.
On a rather cool note, we
just took the #1 place on PG away with that match,
and that victory puts us even with our number of wins on OGL 1942,
and well ahead on the win/loss ratio. (8 wins to 9 losses, compared
to 8 wins to 16 losses on the OGL 1942.)
Final results:
Oil Fields: 142-0 (Coalition)
Desert Shield: 38-0 (Coalition)
Lost Village: Not Played (Coalition)
Attending troopers:
Boris, Dukester, Cable, Goshwin, Instigator, Magic, Marauder, Messiah,
Rune and VA_Killer. |

29.2004 - vs. 786th - Attacking #4 on PG DC Conquest |
| At
last! The evil that is Ason and his crew of trunk moneys has fallen
before our might... Well.. Barely, but still, we won. :P Great games
guys, thanks as always. 786th retired from the PG ladder after this
match as well, we'll miss you. Nice work to all !FT! troopers who
played, that was really well done guys.
Welcome back to Messiah! This is the first match he's played with
the team since the December 15th match vs. LTO. Match demo is up
in the demo
download FTP for those who are interested.
Final results:
Basrah's Edge: 12-0 (Opposition)
El Alamein: 89-0 (Coalition)
Stalingrad: Not Played (Opposition)
Attending troopers:
Cable, Cobra, Goshwin, Instigator, Magic, Marauder, Messiah, Rune
and VA_Killer. |

Mar
22.2004 - vs. LTO - Attacking #2 on PG DC Conquest |
| Grrrrr...
So, so VERY VERY close... and yet... No cigar. Nice work to everyone
who played, there was next to no extraneous chatter on teamspeak.
I think we did very well on Guadalcanal, and we darned near won
on Stalingrad as well. As usual, the choppers and the SCUD got us.
I'm thinking no more bocage for us. Love the map, but it's hugely
unbalanced towards the opposition team.
Tonight was the first match for Boris and Cable, and you guys did
an outstanding job.
Final results:
Guadalcanal: 423-371 (Coalition)
Bocage Day 2: 0-92 (Coalition)
Stalingrad: 0-12 (Opposition)
Attending troopers:
Boris, Cable, Dukester, Goshwin, Instigator, Magic, Marauder, and
Rune. |

14.2004 - vs. 786th - Attacking #4 on PG DC Conquest |
| I
can't believe it, we actually WON on Lost Village. :) Yay for us!
Nice work from everyone who attended, that was a tight match. Soooo
very close to victory on Bocage...Demo is up in the 1942
Demos section for those interested.
Final results:
DC Lost Village: 291-0 (Coalition)
Bocage Day 3: 103-116 (Coalition)
El Alamein Day 2: 74-174 (Opposition)
Attending troopers:
Dukester, Goshwin, Instigator, Kingpin, Magic, Marauder, and VA_Killer. |

10.2004 - IMPORTANT MESSAGE RE: SERVER! |
| Okay
guys, we have a bit of a problem here, and it's with our Desert
Combat server. The server costs the team $85 USD per month. Right
now we have just a few team members footing the bill for it every
month. Thus far we have 3 people this month who have donated $55.
We have roughly 15 people who play with us on a regular basis. If
they all kicked in $5 per month we've have enough to pay for it
without any problems. I'm going to add a little chart to the Battlefield
site to show everyone how much has been donated. |

Mar
7.2004 - vs. Da Lost Boyz - Defending #5 on PG DC Conquest |
| Dagger
and the boys once again tremble before the might that is Forever
Twisted. (Well, sort of anyhows. ;) Nice work to all attending !FT!
Troopers, especially to Gosh for keeping the spawn chopper out of
the skies on Urban Siege, Magic for the magical aircover and SCUD
o' Death, Rune for his armor work, Dukester for playing his first
match and kicking some Bradley ass on Bocage, Killer for his outstanding
long range fire support (as usual) and of course, Kydd for just
being a damned good player no matter where you put him. Kingpin
unfortunately couldn't make the match as his computer was acting
up.
Thanks as always
to DLB for being such good sports and a great bunch of guys to play
with.
Final results:
Bocage Day 3: 122-0 (Allied)
Urban Siege: 93-0 (Allied)
73 Easting (Just for fun): 163-0 (Axis)
Attending troopers:
Dukester, Goshwin, Instigator, Kydd Thunder, Magic, Marauder, Rune,
Tracer, and VA_Killer. |

We got handled bad tonight. Good work 786th! No idea what happened,

to get anywhere.

23.2004 - vs. SOT - Attacking #3 on PG DC Conquest |
| Well,
we did much better than expected on Lost Village, holding our own
for ages. On Bocage unfortunately, once SOT got their SCUD (one
vehicle I REALLY wish that they would take out of the game, as the
allied team doesn't have anything to compete with it, especially
on the maps with no aircraft.) they kept us penned in our base forever.
Goshwin and Kingpin dropped on the second map and only Goshwin was
able to reconnect after about 5 minutes. *sigh* Bad luck night.
Nice work SOT.
Final results:
Lost Village: 0-27 (Allied)
Bocage Day 3: 0-57 (Allied)
Tobruk: Not Played (Allied)
Attending troopers:
Goshwin, Instigator, Kingpin, Kydd Thunder, Magic, Marauder, Rune,
and VA_Killer. |

19.2004 - vs. Da Lost Boyz (DLB) - Defending #4 on PG DC Conquest |
| Always
a pleasure to play with DLB, they all show amazing sportsmanship
and are a fun bunch of guys, and even hung around to play the third
map just for fun. Nice work to everyone in !FT! who played, tight
game lads. See, practise night does pay off in the end. This one
brings us back up to 50% win/loss ratio! w00t.
Final results:
Bocage Day 3: 165-0 (Axis)
El Alamein Day 2: 128-0 (Axis)
El Alamein: 158-0 (Allied)
Attending troopers:
Cobra, Goshwin, Instigator, Kydd Thunder, Magic, Marauder, Rune,
Spazl, Tracer and VA_Killer. |

10.2004 - vs. 786th Recon - Defending #4 on PG DC Conquest |
| Holy
crap! Nice games 786th! Your chopper pilots are truly, truly annoying
individuals, as are your arty guys. Grrrrrrrr... :) Nice work y'all
Huge kudos
to our pilots on El Alamein, that was truly, truly an impressive
performance. Nice work to Inst for sitting patiently on the north
flag for most of the 25 minutes on the third map. :)
Final results:
Bocage Day 3: 114-23(Axis)
El Alamein Day 2: 65-109 (Axis)
El Alamein: 131-27 (Axis)
Attending troopers:
Goshwin, Instigator, Kingpin, Kydd Thunder, Magic, Marauder, Prozac,

be back!
Final results:
DC Lost Village: 0-59 (Axis)
El Alamein: 0-66 (Allies)

28.2004 - vs. SOT - Defending #3 on PG DC Conquest |
| Another
new comer to the ladder, SOT, and they had a great first game. As
per usual, we got handled on Lost Village, a map that I personally
detest for ladder play. We did well on El Al, and it was incredibly
tight on Desert Shield... VERY VERY tight. Demo will be up in the
downloads section in the next week or so. Nice work from everyone,
and thanks to SOT for the games.
Final results:
El Alamein: 35-0 (Axis)
Lost Village: 0-76 (Axis)
Desert Shield: 0-4 (Axis)
Attending troopers:
Cobra, Goshwin, Insigator, Magic, Marauder, Merkilo, Prozac Princess,
and VA_Killer. |

19.2004 - vs. Da Lost Boyz (DLB) - Defending #3 on PG DC Conquest |
| First
game for DLB, the new guys on the ladder, and they drew us. A very,
VERY tight game from all of FT, and we defeated DLB on the field
of battle. The server crashed right at the end of Desert Shield,
with 1 ticket left for DLB. Wonderfull work from everyone, there
was so little chatter on Team Speak it was almost silly, and everyone
stuck to the plan beautifully. Gosh, Kydd and Magic in the air were
just owning it up tonight.
Thanks for
the games DLB, we'll meet again soon I'm sure. Actually we have
to set up some scrims. You seem like a really good bunch of guys.
:)
Final results:
El Alamein: 84-0 (Axis)
Desert Shield: 81-1 (Allies)
Kharkov: Not Played (Axis)
Attending troopers:
Goshwin, Insigator, Kydd Thunder, Magic, Marauder, Prozac Princess,
and VA_Killer. |

Jan
12.2004 - Naughty Server! Naughty! |
| Due
to the server being a naughty little monkey and misbehaving, despite
the best efforts of Magic to bring it into line, we'll be playing
Da Lost Boyz in one weeks time, on the 19th. (Monday) It figures
doesn't it? The damned thing is like a rock, untill the one night
you REALLY care that it works. Stupid computers. |

Jan
10.2004 - Welcome Merkilo! |
| A
big welcome to Merkilo, who has joined the ranks of the Twisted
to play a little 1942 Desert Combat!
VA Killer has been promoted to Corporal. Congrats, now get to work.

Jan
3.2004 - vs. Mountain Stalkers (MS) - Defending #2 on PG DC Conquest |
| First
match on the PG ladder for MS, and well played games guys, very
tight. Thanks for the patience, Marauder screwed up and thought
the match was 01/04/03... Not 01/03/04. Stupid new year crap. Luckily
we managed to pull a few people together, and played an 8 on 8 by
the seat of our pants! We did well on Bocage, but regretably on
DC Lost Village we just couldn't make a dent in them at all. Everytime
we set down, there were heavy assault guys all over the place.
It was R-Khan
and Spazl's first match with the team. Nice work picking off the
strays on Bocage Khan, and wonderfull arty work from Instigator
and Magic.
Final results:
Bocage Day 4: 42-0 (Allies)
DC Lost Village: 0-134 (Allies)
El Alamein Day 2: 4-19 (Allies)
Attending troopers:
Goshwin, Insigator, Kingpin, Magic, Marauder, Prozac Princess, R-Khan,
Spazl, Tracer and VA_Killer. |

15.2003 - vs. vs. Live Tactical Operations(LTO) - Attacking #1 on
PG DC Conquest |
| Darn
you LTO! We'll get you yet my pretties! And your little tanks too!
Yet again vs. the lads at LTO we win one, loose two. Seems we're
much better in armor/armor maps than in ones with any air combat
involved. We ended up playing this one 9 on 9.
Great games
everyone, and as always thanks to LTO for an excellent server and
great sportsmanship and attitude.
Final results:
Iwo Jima: 93-213 (Allies)
Bocage Day 3: 77-24 (Axis)
Gazala: 163-195 (Allies)
Attending troopers:
Goshwin, Insigator, Kydd Thunder, Magic, Marauder, Messiah, Prozac
Princess, Rune, and VA_Killer. |

1.2003 - Welcome Spazl! |

Nov
20.2003 - vs. vs. Live Tactical Operations(LTO) - Defending #1 on
PG DC Conquest |
| Hold
turn out Batman! Both teams had players crawling out of the woodwork
so we ended up playing it 12 on 12. Regretably we got handled in
the air on No Fly Zone, and from the air on Tobruk. (Paratroopers!)
LTO pulled the same strat on Tobruk we were going to try, but unfortunately
did it better than we did. We managed to kick some butt on 73 Easting,
we tend to do better in maps that aren't really heavilly air dependant.
Good work to our middle base defenders and their arty of death.
Great games
everyone, and nice playing to LTO!
Final results:
No Fly Zone: 0-158 (Allies)
73 Easting: 445-0 (Allies)
Tobruk: 0-202
Attending troopers:
Cobra, Dopper, Goshwin, Insigator, Kingpin, Kydd Thunder, Magic,
Marauder, Messiah, Prozac Princess, Rune, Tracer and VA_Killer. |

Nov
13.2003 - vs. FZ (Forgotten OutlawZ) - Scrim |
| Nice
work by everyone from !FT! tonight. Spanky spanky from both sides
of 73 Easting, and heck, we didn't even really use the Scud when
we were Axis.
Final results:
73 Easting: 314-46 (Axis)
73 Easting: 289-23 (Allies)
Attending troopers:
Dopper, Insigator, Kydd Thunder, Magic, Marauder, Messiah, and VA_Killer. |

12.2003 - vs. Game X Change(GXC) - Defending #1 on PG DC Conquest |

1.2003 - vs. Game X Change(GXC) - Attacking #1 on PG DC Conquest |
| w00t!
Nice work tonight guys. Game X Change put up a valient fight, but
was defeated in the end. Thanks for the matches guys.
Final results:
Bocage: 108-0 (Allies)
Tobruk: 71-0 (Allies)
El Alamein: not played (Allies)
Attending troopers:
Dopper, Insigator, Magic, Marauder, Messiah, Prozac Princess, Rune,
and VA_Killer. |

Oct
25.2003 - vs. Live Tactical Operations(LTO) - Attacking #2 on PG
DC Conquest |
| Our
first proving grounds match, with the very excellent peeps at Team
LTO. Thanks for some great games guys, Midway was especially tense,
and I thought for sure we'd lost our last base on Bulge a few times.
73 Easting
was total crap, as the oposition team of course just grabbed the
scud and hit our main base. (My bad, shouldn't have given them side
choice on that one.) Basically we lost 3/4 of our tickets before
we even got out of our main base. *sigh* I hope never to see that
stupid map again.
Final results:
Midway: 181-156 (Allies)
73 Easting: 0-448 (Allies)
Battle of the Bulge: 239-33 (Allies)
Attending troopers:
Magic, Marauder, Messiah, Sinister, Tracer and Rune.
We're all really
proud of everyone who played the match, tight guys. Very tight. |

Oct
15.2003 - A ladder at last! |
| We've
joined the Desert Combat 6 on 6 Conquest ladder at Proving
Grounds. Only a few other teams here so far, but
hopefully the ladder grows. It's really nice to see a ladder that
allows smaller teams to play some competitive 1942. |
| |
Oct
3 .2003 - MIAs |
| Cheese
Nugget, Tumult and Wonderpickle have been declared missing in action
and moved to the inactive list. |

Sept
6.2003 - Quit OGL 8 on 8 Conquest |
| With
our rest time up tomorrow, we've dropped the OGL 8 on 8 conquest
ladder as we debate which DC ladder to join. Final ranking on OGL:
8th place with 8 wins and 16 losses. |
| |
Aug
25.2003 - On Rest |
| After
discussion among the captains, we're placing the 1942 team on rest
for two weeks while we figure out what we're doing. Things will
probably get back to normal once the fall starts and everyone has
less to do outside. |

Aug
21.2003 - vs. Allied Fighting Force AFF- Attacking #6 |
| Final
results:
El Alamein: 0-83 (Allies)
Berlin: 0-74 (Axis)
Guadalcanal: Not Played (Allies)
Attending troopers:
Dopper, Goshwin, Marauder, Messiah, Prozac, Rune, Tracer and VA_Killer
Oh, it hurts,
it hurts! As always, the planes are what slaughtered us on El Alamein.
On Berlin, we lost in 3.5 minutes. Ouch. Nice work AFF! |
| |
Aug
11 .2003 - vs. Black Hawk Rangers Division BHRD - Attacking #3 |
| Final
results:
Midway: 0-124 (Allies)
Operation Aberdeen: 53-0 (Allies)
Guadalcanal : 0-101 (Allies)
Attending troopers:
Goshwin, Magic, Marauder, MC_Hammer, Messiah, Prozac, Rune, Sinister
Sniper, and VA_Killer
Some tense
moments last night. Regretably things went horribly wrong on Midway,
as it always seems to when we're the allies. (Damn you Axis! Damn
you to hell and back!) On Aberdeen we pulled it out of the hat with
a modified strat that worked most excellently and led to a sound
victory. It was pretty tense at the start untill we got things rolling,
but it worked out really well. On Guadalcanal quite obviously we've
got a great deal of work to do. On Guadal we tried a new communications
tactic between air and ground elements that worked out quite well,
with a little polishing it'll make things much simpler for our fliers.
Thanks to BHRD
for an excellently fought match. We'll be back for our #3 spot soon.
:) |
| |
Aug
3.2003 - Forfeit loss vs. BHRD |
| Well
crap. As of 9:00, we got a forfeit and dropped from 4th to 7th.
Damn it all, I was busy and forgot to check for challenges. *sigh* |

July
31.2003 - vs. Chosen Ones CO - Defending #3 |
| Final
results:
Battle of the Bulge: 0-28 (Allies)
Midway: 51-65(Allies)
Berlin : Not Played (Axis)
Attending troopers:
Cobra, Dopper, Goshwin, Instigator, Magic, Marauder, MC_Hammer,
Messiah, Prozac, Sinister Sniper, Tinman, Tracer.
Nice work Chosen
Ones! Regretably on the first map, things fell apart for us and
we got smoked. Defence award goes to Magic in the M10 and Sinister
the Engineer on the north bridge for keeping them from crossing
it, period. On midway we were finally catching up, with their fleet
supressed and dead for most of the match. Unfortunely I'm an idiot,
and didn't notice that the time limit was set for 15 minutes, NOT
25 minutes. Ah well. We'll make sure to watch for that next time.
Thanks again to CO for an excellent match, we'll be back for our
#3 spot as soon as we can. ;) Dopper couldn't actually play in the
match, as he was busy chatting with a lady. Much mocking of Dopper's
priorities from all the nerds ensued. :)
This marks
Hammer's first match with us, thanks for the work bud :) |

July
21.2003 - vs. Alpha Company VX9 - Attacking #3 |
Very
nice work from everyone tonight, it was wonderfull to again taste
the sweet, tender fruit of victory. Our horrible lemony revenge
on VX9 is complete at last. ;)
Final results:
Battle of the Bulge: 15-9 (Allies)
El Alamein: 23-0 (Allies)
Iwo Jima: Not Played (Allies)
Attending troopers:
Cobra, Goshwin, Instigator, Magic, Marauder, Messiah, Prozac, Rune,
Sinister Sniper, Tinman and VA_Killer
Thanks for
the intense games VX9! Battle of the Bulge, we did a last man stand
at the south base, and that was quite possibly the tensest battle
I've ever been involved in. I thought we'd had it, but we just fought
them off. Goshwin managed to kill their Tiger tanker and highjack
the heavy, that helped a heck of a lot. |

July
20.2003 - !FT!Marauder |
Welcome
MCHammer to the ET and 1942 divisions! |

July
10.2003 - !FT!Marauder vs. -=LETHAL=- - Attacking #1 |
Our
20th match on OGL 8 on 8!
Argh, it hurts! It hurts!
Final results:
Operation Aberdeen: 0-69 (Allies)
Berlin: 0-21 (Allies)
Iwo Jima: Not Played (Allies)
Attending troopers:
Goshwin, Instigator, Magic, Marauder, Messiah, Prozac, Sinister
Sniper, and Tracer.
Nice work LETHAL,
especially with the rush on Berlin right off the get go. Cobra couldn't
make it, as his mom is in the hospital. Killer had company. :) |
| |
June
29.2003 - !FT!Marauder vs. The Armored Fist_TAW - Defending #3 |
I
have nothing to say about this match. It was so, so painfull. On
a plus note, it's the first match for Tinman and VA_Killer. Thanks
for coming out guys! :)
Final results:
Operation Battleaxe: 0-57 (Axis)
Midway: 0-78 (Allies)
Stallingrad: Not Played (Axis)
Attending troopers:
Goshwin, Instigator, Magic, Marauder, Messiah, Sinister Sniper,
Tinman, VA_Killer.
Nice work TAW! |

18.2003 - !FT!Marauder |
Welcome
to Tinman. 10 foot tall, looming brother of Skeezix, he'll be joining
us for some 1942 action! |

June
16.2003 - !FT!Marauder vs. Mechanized Fear- Defending #4 |
OK!
After horrible things going wrong with the server (Damn you 1.4!
Damn yoooouuuu!!!) we managed to get the server up, although we
couldn't get it passworded. And were thereforce forced to watch
and kick 3 players who connected during the matches. (Sorry Messiah
:) -=MF=- played down 2 players, and put up one HELL of a fight
for being outnumbered. It was extremely close on the first map,
with LiquidNinja owning up both in a tank, in a plane and on the
ground as an engineer. What a versitile player, we were all impressed
as heck with Liquid, and indeed with MF as a whole. On wake island,
we did much better, sinking their fleet 5 or so minutes into the
map. Nice flying from Sinister, Goshwin and Magic! Aircover=gooooood.
:)
Saw some good
sneaky stuff from MF during that one, where one guy would do a long
run for a flag. It worked a number of times, and only lucky placement
of our foces prevented them from wide spread breakouts on our little
island home. Unknown held our north flag for ages untill finally
he was tracked down and killed. Good work MF, hopefully next time
we start on time, the server works well, and the whole team turns
out. This win puts us to #3 on the OGL 8 on 8. :)
Final results:
Kharkov: 30-22 (Allies)
Wake Island: 67-0 (Allies)
Kursk: Not Played (Allies)
Attending troopers:
Goshwin, Instigator, Magic, Marauder, Messiah, Prozac Princess,
Rune, Sinister Sniper and Tracer.
Thanks to everyone
who played, and MF for a tense match, and the quick reporting. |

June
7.2003 - !FT!Marauder vs. Alpha Company VX9- Defending #3 |
Noooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!
Our horrible revenge upon VX9 was horribly stimied! Fate (and no,
not F8S, just Fate) has conspired against us, an several of our
players (Dopper and Rune, who were at a LAN party at Pappy-R's)
dropped out during the first map, and couldn't reconnect. Despite
that, we were rapidly catching up with VX9 after a slow start...
when the time ran out. Douh! :) Nice M10 and arty work guys. Luckily
Tracer and Dart came in for the second map.
On Battleaxe,
as usual we just got slaughtered by the enemy planes. Arty shells
hit our runway before we could even get in the air and that was
the end of that. Of the 11 times I died, 10 of them were to aircraft.
Ouch. OISRADIO.COM as usual did the Shoutcast. It'll be up in the
downloads section soon. Thanks Iron :) You rock bud. Magic was awarded
MVP for our team, due to his amazing tanking skillz.
Final results:
Battle of the Bulge: 20-33 (Axis)
Operation Battleaxe: 0-60 (Allies)
Wake Island: Not Played (Allies)
Attending troopers:
Dart, Dopper, Goshwin, Instigator, Magic, Marauder, Messiah, Rune,
Sinister Sniper and Tracer.
Thanks to everyone
who played, and to VX9 for another excellent match. We'll get yah
next time ;) |
| |
June
5.2003 - !FT!Marauder |
Just
a little notice to everyone. We've been keeping track of who attends
for matches and practices. For a while there, attendance at both
was most excellent, but lately we've had a drop off in attendance
for practices. Please note that the players who attend practices
and pub nights WILL be given preference in match play time. This
is due to the critical nature of the practices in learning our strats,
and learning to play with each other. People who don't fully understand
the strats will not be able to function properly as part of the
team during a match, and therefore may be bumped from a map if a
player who HAS been attending the practices wants to play. If this
happens, don't complain. Come to practice. If you can't make it,
please let one of the team Captains (Magic, Messiah or Marauder)
know why you couldn't. We're not trying to be jerks here, and we
do our best to ensure that everyone who comes to a match gets in...
But we're taking this step to try and get a little more solid on
the organisation for matches.
The match on
Saturday will be shoutcast, as usual by our hyper buddy OIS. We
need everyone on Teamspeak by 9:30 at the latest so we can go over
the strats, and explain them to those who didn't make practise last
night. We need to defeat VX9 guys. :) |
| |
May
30.2003 - !FT!Marauder |
And
the Dark Watch guys quit! That was fast eh? They've decided to go
to a smaller team where they can get more play time in. Best of
luck guys. :) |
| |
May
26.2003 - !FT!Marauder vs. Mechanized Fear - Defending #4 |
Excellent
fight tonight guys. We played Aberdeen 7 players on 7players, then
we were 8-7 on Battle of the Bulge. Excellent work on the part of
MF, you really had us pushed back and on the defensive on Aberdeen
for a bit there. Messiah and Sinister took the axis base on Aberdeen
right off the get go, and held it for the length of the match, which
spelled doom in the end. (Sneaky bastard medal for both of them.)
On Bulge, I
thought for sure we were dead for sure. We were down something like
27-45 for a bit, but managed to pull it out of the hat near the
end. Interesting, as we usually do well off the get go, and loose
it in the endgame.
Final results:
Aberdeen: 46-0 (Allies)
Battle of the Bulge: 26-0 (Axis)
Market Garden: Not Played (Allies)
Attending troopers:
Dart, Goshwin, Instigator, Magic, Marauder, Messiah, Rune, Sinister
Sniper and Tracer.
Thanks to everyone
who played, and to MF for the games. Excellent work, we keep #4
on the OGL. :) |

May
22.2003 - !FT!Marauder vs. KCG Trench Warfare |
Oh
my, that was some tense, TENSE fights tonight. Great maps, I can't
believe we actually tied it up on Midway with 8 seconds left on
the clock. OISRADIO.COM
did the shoutcast, as always, and did an amazing job. The shoutcast
will be posted on the site tomorrow for download. I got the MVP,
I have no freakin' idea why. :) Guess I'll have to listen to it
like everyone else and figure it out.
Final results:
Midway: 57-57 (Axis)
El Alamein: 11-61 (Allies)
Tobruk: 0-8 (Axis)
Attending troopers:
Cobra, Dart, Dopper, Goshwin, Instigator, Magic, Marauder, Messiah,
Prozac, Rune, and Tracer.
Wow. I'm going
to go off now and try to calm down a little. |

15.2003 - !FT!Marauder |
Darn
it, I thought we had them! VX9 has their horrible revenge upon us,
as predicted by both Nostrodamus AND the Bible. Nice work Alpha
Company, that was some hella tense fights. Magic was just totally
on, he got the MVP award from OISRADIO.COM,
who did the shoutcast of the match. Our apologies to everyone for
the late start, I'm not sure what happened we got some wires crossed
at HQ with the start time and date. :(
Final results:
Midway: 64-0 (Axis)
Iwo Jima: 0-55 (Axis)
Bulge: 15-38 (Axis)
Attending troopers:
Cobra, Dart, Instigator, Magic, Marauder, Messiah, Sinister Sniper
and Tracer.
We're also
going to drop the CTF ladder for the moment. We've come to the conclusion
that we really don't have time for both. |
| |
May
12.2003 - !FT!Marauder |
I'm
still waiting on the afteraction report for Suday's CTF match vs.

1.2003 - !FT!Marauder |
Oh
my god. Nice games tonight Warrior Nation, that was some hard fought
games, and a hell of a lot of fun! Wow. I'm still shaking :)
Final results:
Tobruk: 18-6 (Axis)
Bocage: 33-65 (Axis)
Kursk: 51-75 (Allies)
Attending troopers:
Cobra, Dopper, Goshwin, Instigator, Magic, Marauder, Messiah, Prozac
Princess, and Sinister Sniper. Goshwin was having some wicked ping
spikes tonight, so he sat. |

Apr
22.2003 - !FT!Marauder |
Ouch.
Obviously we need to play Battleaxe more. Thanks to Das Reich 2nd
for a hell of a well fought match.
Final results:
Kharvov: 50-82 (Allies)
Battleaxe: 0-127 (Allies)
Market Garden: not played
Attending troopers:
Dopper, Goshwin, Instigator, Magic, Marauder, Messiah, Reverend,
Sinister Sniper and Tracer.
Sinister wasn't
in TS early enough, so he ended up sitting for the first two maps,
and no third map was played.
Thanks again to OISRADIO.COM
for the broadcast!! |

17.2003 - !FT!Marauder |
Hamish
from Dark Watch sends his appologies for missing the scrim last
night, apparently they had some problems.. Everyone went to watch
the Leafs and Flyers play "hockey" (Whatever the hell
that is.... I think it involves boxing and sticks or something?)
Congratulations
are in order! Dopper, Goshwin, Instigator and Reverend have recieved
field promotions. Due to their dedication to the team, outstanding
attitude and skills they have been promoted as of last night to
Corporals in the ranks of Forever Twisted 1942. They will be taking
more of a leadership role from now on, as well as having more of
a say in command and strategic decisions. Congrats gentlemen, and
thank you for all your hard work. |

6.2003 - !FT!Marauder |
Okay,
here at last is the info from the match April 3, vs. Fate's Minions
(F8S). (Lazy, lazy Marauder!)
Final results:
Iwo Jima:173-31 (Axis)
Tobruk: 36-12 (Allies)
Market Garden: not played
Attending troopers:
Cobra, Dopper, Goshwin, Instigator, Magic, Marauder, Messiah, Prozac
Princess, Reverend, Sinister Sniper and Tracer.
Iwo Jima went
really well, with Fate's only challenging us seriously in the centre
of the island a few times. Tobruk was a great deal harder, as one
would expect being on the allies team, but we held the line pretty
well. The F8S guys did take over a few of the middle bases for a
bit, and held our back main base for the longest time, but we managed
to repell them and ended up winning it and holding onto #3 on the
OGL 8 on 8.
I'm proud of
everyone who played in the match, you guys did an amazing job. I
think the regular practises are really paying off, and we've come
a long way. :) Everyone gets a big hug from all of the captains.
This was also our first Shoutcasted game ever, which is sort of
odd considering how long we've been playing together. We'll definately
have to get more of them Shoutcasted. Thanks again to OISRADIO.COM
for the broadcast!!
Sinister Sniper
gets the GTA3 award for stealing the enemy's bomber from the deck
of the aircraft carrier and making off with it. Everyone else gets,
as already mentioned, a big hug for doing so very, very well. :) |

Apr
4.2003 - !FT!Marauder |
A
huge thanks to the whole team at Fate's Minions for a great night

you guys show. It's always fun, and we always look forward to meeting
you on the battlefield. One of the demos from the match, as well
as the Shoutcast from Old Ironsides (OISRADIO.COM!)
is will be up in the BF Downloads section in just a little bit. |

26.2003 - vs VX9 - BF1942 OGL 8 on 8 defending spot #4 |
Thanks
very much for a fun and exciting match VX9! Everhard, you are so
the man. :) We look forward to meeting you guys in battle again.
Final results:
Market Garden: 64-6 (Allies)
Bocage : 25-0 (Allies)
Tobruk : not played
Attending troopers:
Cobra, Dopper, Instigator, Magic, Marauder, Messiah, Reverend, and
Tracer.
Last time we
faced VX9 (Jan 9/03) we lost 0-53 on Bocage and 0-106 on Battleaxe.
Revenge is ours. ;)
Gorgeous teamwork
from everyone tonight, it was lovely to see everyone working together
like a well oiled machine and kicking some butt.
Match
Awards!
Amazing work
from Magic, Messiah and Tracer in the air. Magic gets the "Red
Barron Medal" and Messiah is hereby granted the right to wear
the "Heavy Rain Cross" for his fine, fine B17 bomber work
on both maps.
Special "Axis
Air Support" award to Reverend for his suicide attack on Marauder
in his M10 just as he attacked the enemies tiger tanks from the
rear. ;) You're grounded bud.
Dopper was
just an engineering bad ass on Market Garden defending that big
bridge, and is hereby awarded the "Oh, was that _MY_ mine you
hit?" medal.
Cobra gets
the "redneck fishing" award of the night for his underwater
nade work.
Inst gets the
"roadblock" award for getting nasty with his tank and
machine guns, mowing down a few enemy troopers and slowing the enemy
tanks down on the MG stone bridge enough that the airforce slaughtered
them where they stood.
Tracer also
did some nice tank work on both maps and gets the "Everything
but the Kitchen Sink" medal for just being overall a damned
good player in most roles.
Special enemy
note goes to the aforementioned Everhard for sneaking behind our
lines on Market Garden, and capturing the church, thereby opening
a second front behind us, and allowing VX9 reinforcements to take
all of the flags for quite some time. |

16.2003 - vs F8S - BF1942 OGL 8 on 8 defending spot #6 |
Thanks
to Fate and his Minions for the great game tonight. We managed to
pull off two clean victories on both maps. Some wierd issues on
our servers so we played on theirs. Thanks again guys!
Final results:
Stallingrad: 138-0
Midway : 178-47
Guadalcanal: not played
Attending troopers:
Cobra, Goshwin, Magic, Marauder, Messiah, Protocal, Prozac, Reverend,
Tracer. Rune attended, but his game kept crashing so he couldn't
get in. :( Cobra also came out as well, but had a horrible connection
night. (Stupid school connections :)
Nice work to
Magic and Messiah for their armor action on Stallingrad, and to
Protocal for keeping the pressure on the middle. Tracer was a machine,
killing everything that had the misfortune to wander into his sights.
Everyone else did an excellent job as well, we're proud of you all.
Excellent match. |

good people, and always a heck of a lot of fun to play with. |

10.2003 - vs [HEL] - BF1942 OGL 8 on 8 for spot #2 |
Great
games with [HEL] tonight. Played on their server with 1.31, everything
seemed to run smoothly, no major problems. It was great to see so
many people show up for the match, it's a nice change to have enough
people that we had to do some subing. Picked up some interesting
tips on the use of tanks and Hanomags vs. planes and infantry.
Final results:
Guadacanal: 14-120
Market Garden: 111-45
Kursk: 30-89
Attending troopers:
Dopper, Goshwin, Instigator, Magic, Marauder, Messiah, Protocal,
Reverend, Tracer, Tumult, and Wonder Pickle. |

I'm assuming that the servers will be putting it up pretty quickly.

6.2003 - !FT!Marauder |
Nice
to see so many guys on playing tonight. We were between 8 and 9
players for most of the night. Some great, GREAT games tonight.
To Mac, Messiah and Magic who were on the other team and who killed
me, I hate you all. ;) Yes, yes I do. Had a blast guys, we'll do
it again real soon. It was nice to meet Dart, a buddy of Tracer's.
Everyone, please
check the forums for practise information. We pay for the forums,
we should really use the darned things. It's also a bit of a pain
for me to always be ICQ'ing everyone, much MUCH easier if I can
make one forum post. |

| WOOT! We have
a Battlefield server. Thanks to Magic for arranging for it, and paying
for the first two months. Info for the server is in the 1942 forums,
Private Members Only section. Note that the server is for matches
and practices only, and the password is not to be given out to anyone. |

20.2003 - vs. Warpigs- BF1942 OGL 8 on 8 |
A few great
games with Muddy and the boys from Warpigs. We lost it, but managed
to hold them off for the full time limit on both maps. We played
down 2 players as well, due to real life concerns eliminating a
bunch of our guys from the playing this evening. Thanks for the
GGs WP!
Final results:
Battle of the Bulge: 52-74
Kursk: 11-69
Berlin: not played
Attending troopers:
Dopper, Goshwin, Magic, Marauder, Messiah, Prozac Princess. |

11.2003 - vs. 2nd Panzer - BF1942 OGL 8 on 8 |
After a long
and drawn out evening of disconnects, drops and kicks (for TKing.
Stupid 1.3) we got the match done and over with. The 2nd Panzer
guys aren't happy that we claimed the victory on El Alamein. Personally
I think we would have won it anyhows, despite their claims that
they could defeat us soundly at anytime. Good games from the 2nd,
and thanks for patching the server so we could play tonight.
Final results:
Stallingrad: 0-31
El Alamein: 96-18
Berlin: 9-8
Attending troopers:
Dopper, Goshwin, Instigator, Magic, Marauder, Messiah, Protocal,
Prozac Princess. |

1.2003 - vs. Agressive Faction - BF1942 OGL 8 on 8 |
My hopes
were so high, and we played much better than we have been, as a
team, but we still lost this one. :) A valient and noble effort
from all players, thanks guys. Great games AF!
